Air Max Day 2018 Wrap-Up
This past Monday saw Nike celebrate Air Max Day, a day to commemorate an iconic line of sneakers designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. Nike had kept the party going all month long with releases like the “Animal Pack” Air Max 1s, the all-new Air Max 270s, and the Air Vapormax 97s (a mashup on the classic 97 silhouette featuring Air Max soles).
For many though, the highlight came on Air Max Day itself (which is March 26th, a nod to the release date of the first Air Max 1s in 1987), when Nike released the Sean Wotherspoon Air Max 1/97 hybrid. This model, which features rich colors and materials, was the winner of Nike’s Vote Forward competition, where fans from all over the world where able to vote for their favorite user-submitted designs.
Did Nike do too much, just enough, or not enough this year?
